ACEs & Outreach Support
a note from Helen
As a former foster youth with a high ACE score, a foster mom, and an advocate for children and families overcoming adversity, I’ve seen firsthand the lasting impact of complex trauma. Here in Shasta County, the need for safe, supportive care is real. Nearly 40% of local adults report four or more Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), more than twice the California state average.
(Source: California Department of Health Care Services, Shasta County Health Assessment Report).
These numbers reflect real lives shaped by chronic stress, relational wounds, and nervous system dysregulation. This work is my response.
I offer regulation-focused coaching and support for individuals and families. Studio Hope remains a creative part of this work, where expressive art can be used as a tool for reflection, connection, and healing.
I’ve walked this healing journey for many years and am committed to holding space for people to feel supported, gain clarity, and move forward with hope.
For those navigating financial hardship, gifted sessions may be available.
When you sponsor a session, you’re helping someone breathe a little deeper, learn new, creative ways to regulate, and see their life through a lens of hope. A portion of each session supports outreach for those who would not otherwise have access. Sponsor a session. Apply for one. Gift one to someone you love. Healing begins in safe spaces.
with care,
Helen Rose Juveland
